Passing of Brother Kenneth F. Spodnik

We regret to inform on the passing of Brother Kenneth F. Spodnik, October 21, 1937 - June 6, 2021.

Kenneth F. Spodnik, age 83, of Milford, beloved husband of Peggy (Sweeney) Spodnik, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at Bishop Wicke Health & Rehabilitation Center in Shelton, CT. 

Born in Bridgeport on October 21, 1937, the son of the late John and Dorothy Spodnik, he was a longtime Milford resident. Ken graduated from Stratford High School and served in the CT National Guard, where he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.  Ken was an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local 488 for over 40 years.  He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. Ken and Peggy raised their two sons in Milford and enjoyed family gatherings and vacations with them. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was proud of his chosen occupation, especially when his two sons followed him into the electrical business.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two devoted sons, Kenneth G. Spodnik and his wife Patricia of Milford and Mark P. Spodnik and his wife Heather of Milford, two cherished granddaughters Caroline Perez (Joseph Hunter) and Elizabeth Sousa and her husband Matthew, three beloved great-grandsons Brayden, Miguel and Logan, a sister Linda Skarupa of Shelton, several nieces and nephews and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his infant son Kenneth Michael Spodnik, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Alice Sweeney, his brother and sister-in law William and Edith Spodnik, his sister and brother-in-law Irene and Donald Heske, his brother-in-law James Skarupa, his daughter-in-law Dr. Ann Evers, his niece Karen Spodnik and his nephew Donald Heske.

The family would like to thank his physicians and care staff at Milford Hospital, Bishop Wicke Health & Rehabilitation Center and Connecticut Hospice for the compassionate care they provided. Friends may call on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.  Interment will be private.
